Assets: Zalman Zuckerbraun and Finely Stein

A film inspired by the haunting aesthetics of German Expressionism, tells the story of a sorcerer whose relentless pursuit of immortality takes a twisted turn when he unintentionally turns his loyal servant to stone. Director Zalman Zuckerbraun’s unique vision for Want was a perfect fit for the 2.5D workflow enabled by Disguise, which allowed him to blend two-dimensional assets with three-dimensional environments to create an immersive, surreal visual experience that echoed the shadows and distortions characteristic of the Expressionist style.

Working together with Finley Stein, Zuckerbraun crafted assets to bring this dreamlike world to life, while the Torchlight Forge team seamlessly integrated the visual elements. We collaborated closely with Zuckerbraun to realize his vision, assembling each frame with meticulous attention to the dramatic contrasts and layered compositions that define the Expressionist influence.

Our partnership with Unconquered Media, the Seminole athletics media department, brings the excitement of FSU sports to the big screen through dynamic player intros for the FSU football, women’s basketball, and men’s basketball teams. Each shoot gives athletes their “highlight reel” moment, showcasing their strength and style on our Virtual Production LED stage, where they come to life in thrilling, cinematic intros.
